TAIPEI – TAIWAN on Thursday said exports in first half of 2011 rose 16.9 per cent to a record US$154.14 billion (S$189.07 billion) on the back of strong demand for its electronics and IT products. Shipments of electronics rose 14.2 per cent to $41.37 billion, while IT goods soared 66.3 per cent to $9.81 billion, said the finance ministry.
